General Orders, Nos. 4, 6, and 7. Adjutant and Inspector General's Office, Richmond, February 8, 14, and 16 1865. A typed card attached to the documents reads: "There were eleven of this set of General Orders issued between January 6-March 18, 1865. We have only Nos. 4, 6, and 7 ..." General Orders No. 4: Deals with the destruction of property under military necessity and the indemnity thereof; signed by S. Cooper; General Orders No. 6: four separate orders deal with: I. seizure of small animals from citizens for public service, II. appointment of General Pillow as Commissary General of Prisoners, III. impressment of labor by slaves, IV. exemption from military service of mechanics, artisans, etc. of the Ordnance Department; signed by S. Cooper; General Orders No. 7: Deals with establishment of an Invalid Corp.
